It looks gorgeous! I'm confident that Director M. Night Shyamalan will deliver the epic movie we are all waiting for! Just look at those threatening boats from the Fire nation:
I'm impressed by the skills in martial arts of Noah Ringer who plays the role of Aang the Avatar:
This Last Airbender movie is going to be amazing! :)
We've got our hands on the first official teaser poster of the Last Airbender movie, aka Avatar, directed by M. Night Shyamalan: (Click on the poster to enlarge it.)
THE LAST AIRBENDER
Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan
This poster could mislead uninitiated people that Shyamalan created the Last Airbender, but the real creators are actually Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino (the one as bald as Aang):
Shyamalan just penned the script of the Last Airbender movie, following the original animated series (I hope).

Aang (Noah Ringer) and Zuko (Dev Patel) look great! :)
The Last Airbender is a cult animated series, that's for sure. So no wonder that fans some fans are bickering over the cast. But there's nothing there to fuel a controversy. I even think that the cast chosen by Director M. Night Shyamalan looks quite good actually:
Aang the last Airbender, aka the Avatar (Noah Ringer)
Katara (Nicola Peltz)
Sokka (Jackson Rathbone)
Zuko (Dev patel)
Hope to get pictures of the other members of the cast of Shyamalan's Last Airbender soon. :)

Those pictures of the Last Airbender look great. I start to believe that Director M. Night Shyamalan could deliver a Last Airbender movie faithful to the original anime series. :)
As you may know there is a live-action cinema adaptation of Avatar The Last Airbender under way. The movie is directed by M. Night Shyamalan. But how did he learn about this animated TV show?
Well, we may have to thank his daughter! It is indeed through her that Director Shyamalan discovered Aang, the Last Airbender.
To learn more, watch this 'interview' of Shyamalan by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko the co-creators of Avatar The Last Airbender:
M. Night Shyamalan is fortunate to have his daughter: he really needed to renew his inspiration! Shyamalan's latest movies were not that great and hardly bring people to theaters...
But I bet that this announced trilogy based on the Avatar world, starting with The last Airbender being the first movie, will be a real success. I hope there will be enough financial backing to make a movie that will blow us all away! :)
A few years ago the Cartoon TV network Nickelodeon started to broadcast a new animate TV sho titled 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' (also known as 'Avatar: The Legend of Aang' in several countries). It has since been a real success winning both critics' appraisal and public acclaim.
So no wonder that Hollywood is already working on a live-action trilogy adaptation. The project is tackled by Director M. Night Shyamalan who has been introduced to the show by his own daughter who is a dedicated fan of Aang's adventures.
But a dispute with James Cameron's film Avatar regarding title ownership resulted in the first movie being titled The Last Airbender.
The Last Airbender is slated for a release in Summer 2010.
The Plot: "The story follows the adventures of the successor to a long line of Avatars who must put aside his irresponsible ways and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water, Earth and Air nations." (Source: IMDb)
If you are not yet familiar with Avatar the Last Airbender, then have a look to this opening of the TV show:
I suppose I have more free time on my hand than M. Night Shyamalan, because I did not wait for my children to tell me about the show. Yeap, actually my children get interested in the Last Airbender through me. No joking! :)
I am really glad to hear about this movie adaptation of Avatar The last Airbender. But I hope he won't be as disappointing as with The Happening, the last Shyamalan movie... I would be quite sad if he does not respect the original show and bring us a stupid B-movie.... :-/
